This colt is out of a half-sister to Can Opener (King’s Best ex Georgiana by Nassipour). Can Opener was purchased by John Cameron on behalf of the Hong Kong Jockey Club for their International Sale held in December 2004. The Pencarrow Stud bred two-year-old gelding smashed the existing record (HK$4,000,000) when he was purchased by first-time owners for HK$6,000,000.
LOT 68: Bay Colt by DANEHILL ex PAINT ME A DREAM by DEPUTY MINISTER
Listed winner Savorthetime (by Gilded Time) is now the winner of nine races, including three Listed wins, having added the Listed Churchill Downs Dream Supreme Handicap to his ever increasing tally. Other stakes performers in the family include Diggings, Moving Shoulder, Arabic Treasure, Something Young, Tedarshana and Miss Pine Top Az.
LOT 74: Bay Colt by BLACK MINNALOUSHE ex PAVAN by CENTAINE
This colt’s half-brother Tonnere (by Tale of the Cat) has followed his win, with two further placings in good company. Another member of the family new to the racetrack and winners circle is Pencarrow Stud bred and part-owned Symphony In Cee (Stravinsky ex Coutet by Nuage D’Or). Highly promising three-year-old Symphony In Cee is trained by Bart Cummings out of his Randwick yard. Talented Group 3 place getter Avise (by Canny Lad) is due to kick off his Autumn campaign in a barrier trial in Sydney this week.

Stakes performers not listed in the catalogue include: Group 3 winners River Deep, Stonemason and Welfare Warrior and Listed winners Affirmed and Ready, Dreamer and Black Jack Mack.
LOT 192: Bay Colt by DANEHILL ex TAMARINO by CAERLEON
The three-year-old full brother to this lot, Ample Gains is a recent winner over 1400m in Hong Kong. Also of note, Listed winner L’Ereditiera is the dam of Group 2 second place getter L’Erede. L’Erede is also the winner of two races at 1500m and 1800m in Italy.
LOT 213: Bay Colt by DANEHILL ex TWAFEAJ by TOPSIDER
Another Listed performer and sire Bold and Greene needs to be added to this pedigree. Bold and Greene is a son of Bold Coquette. He is also the winner of three races.
LOT 218: Bay Colt by VISCOUNT ex VAPOUR TRAIL by JETBALL
Viscount, whose eldest progeny are now yearlings sold very well at the recent Gold Coast sale, fetching up to A$230,000. Another Listed performer from the family is Sambit, a winner of three races in Germany and daughter of Shadiyama. Shadiyama was placed at two in Great Britain.
LOT 245: Brown Colt by O’REILLY ex ZINO BELLE by SUCCESS EXPRESS
From the family of Group 2 winner Winning Belle who kicked off her Autumn campaign with an impressive trials win in Sydney last week. This classy colt is a relative of Infringe who is recently placed up to 2200m in Australia and Raquel, a producer who is a three-time winner.
LOT 250: Grey Filly by DANEHILL ex AFFIRMED LANE by AFFIRMED
Two Listed performers not in the catalogue are Dancer’s Verde and Unchallenged. Both Listed winners are sons of La Verde and now stand at Stud. Dancer’s Verde is the winner of eight races, and Unchallenged is the winner of six races. Another winner in the family is Strength, who won over 1400m in the USA.
LOT 250: Bay Colt by ZABEEL ex ANAKELA BAY by FAIRY KING
There are several more black type winners that need to be added to this pedigree including Group 1 winner Noble Pearl, Group 2 winner Noroit, Group 3 winners Nouvelle Noblesse and Noel, who is also the winner of eleven races, and Listed winners Nouvelle Reine, Nouvelle Roi and Noble Roi. Other winners in the family include Legal Issue, the winner of eleven races in Ireland and Family Favourite, who has recorded seven wins in both Ireland and Australia. Zabeel recently notched his 30th individual Group 1 winner when Bazelle won the Group 1 Auckland Cup, which was the first of two Group 1 wins for the sire that weekend.

From this family Red Slippers is now the dam of Listed winner Redbridge. Redbridge is the winner of three races and is also placed third in three Listed races in Dubai and Ireland. Another stakes performer from this family is First Night, a winner of two races in Great Britain and the USA and placed second in a Listed race at Deauville, France.
LOT 295: Bay Colt by DANEHILL ex BEYOND THE SUNSET by GONE WEST
A close relative to Champion racehorse and Champion sire Seattle Slew, another winner and stakes performer not in your catalogue is Group 3 third place getter and sire Charming Turn. Lot 295 is by Champion sire Danehill, who produced 50 stakes winners in 2004.
LOT 321: Chestnut Colt by BLACK MINNALOUSHE ex CHEERFUL by STAR WAY
Black Minnaloushe, by Champion sire Storm Cat, had one yearling sell at the recent Gold Coast yearling sales where the brown colt made A$95,000. This colt is one of two Black Minnaloushe colts from the draft of Pencarrow Stud. Listed winning relation Johnny Reb has added two more wins and A$80,000 in stakes earnings since the catalogue went to print.
LOT 332: Bay Colt by ZABEEL ex CLEAR ROSE by DEPUTY GOVERNOR
Out of Group 1 One Thousand Guineas winner Clear Rose, this colt is a relative to two-year-old winner Delgardo – Lucky Flyer (HK). The fourth dam of lot 332 is also a winner at 1 mile in Great Britain which is not listed in the catalogue.
LOT 353: Bay Filly by DANEHILL ex DANCE MY DANCE by SADLER’S WELLS
A half-sister to the dam of lot 353 sold for A$625,000 at last week’s Gold Coast yearling sales. The filly by Danehill was the highest priced filly of the sale. The dam of lot 353 is also a sister to Juliet Tosho, a winner of three races in Japan over 1000m and 1200m and a producer.
LOT 360: Bay Filly by DANEHILL ex DEPARTMENT by SECRETARIAT
From the family of several stakes performers not listed in the catalogue including: Group 1 NZ Oaks third place getter No Alimony, Group 2 second place getter Actxecutive, Group 3 second place getter Kastanie and JPN-3 third place getter Tagano Forty. Listed place getters not listed in the catalogue are: Winds of Light, Knoxville, Madder than Mad, Map, Dream for Two and Regally Light. In the first dam, Area is now the dam of USA 1200m race winner All Terrain.
LOT 385: Bay Filly by DANEHILL ex ENCENS by COMMON GROUNDS
The half-sister to lot 385, stakes performer Epopee (by Sadler’s Wells) has added another stakes placing to her race record when running third in the Listed Saint-Cloud Prix Denisy. In the second dam, Acquiesce is the dam of Listed Newmarket Pretty Polly Stakes third place getter Oblige.
LOT 401: Bay Colt by DANEHILL ex FERN by SHIRLEY HEIGHTS
Three stakes winners not in the catalogue come in the third dam, they are Fresh, the winner of five races from 1600m – 2000m including three Listed wins and placings in a Group 3 and Listed event; Fish’N’Chips, the winner of six races from 1800m – 2000m including one Listed victory; and Al Mohaajir, the winner of six races from 1600m – 1800m including two Listed wins, and third placings in a Group 2 and Group 3.
LOT 437: Bay Colt by CENTAINE ex GRACE AND POWER by BRIEF TRUCE
This lots half-sister El Bulli (by Zabeel) is now a winner of two races and she is exempt from ballot in the Group 1 New Zealand Oaks on January 22nd at Trentham. El Bulli is currently at odds of $8 on the NZ TAB for the Group 1 Classic. Another horse of mention in the family is Starry Typhoon, a daughter of Cathedra. Starry Typhoon is the winner of an incredible nineteen races from 1000 – 1600m with stakes earned in excess of £380,000. Starry Typhoon has also placed second in the Listed Milan Premio Bersaglio, and placed third in the Listed Milan Premio Certosa.
LOT 475: Bay Filly by DANEHILL ex JEANETTA COCHRANE by SADLER’S WELLS
There have been two more impressive winners out of Jeanetta Cochrane since the catalogue went to print, two-year-old Danehill colt Power of Destiny won by five and a quarter lengths on Boxing Day at Randwick, Sydney and three-year-old full brother Saxon is now a winner of two races, one of which was a two-year-old.
LOT 500: Bay Filly by DANEHILL ex KWAN by SADLER’S WELLS
A further stakes performer in this family is Pop Song, a winner of two races, both over a mile and third place getter in the Group 3 Ascot Cumberland Stakes. Lot 500 is by Champion sire Danehill whose progeny filled the top four highest prices spots at the recent Gold Coast sales.
LOT 512: Bay Filly by DANEHILL ex LATINO L’AMOUR by DIESIS
This filly has several black type winners not listed in the catalogue, they are: Group 3 winner and sire Mr Greely, two-time Group 3 winner and three-time Listed winner Glen Jordan, Group 3 winner Tiger’s Eye who was also second in a Listed race and third in a Group 2 event and Listed winners Majestic Legend, Aaron’s Concorde, Rosalida and Lost Prairie. Stakes performer Legion d’Honneur a winner of two races and runner-up in a Listed race is also from this family.
LOT 521: Bay Filly by DANEHILL ex LUCKY BE LUCKY by STORM CAT
Since the catalogue went to print Kitty’s Legend has since become a stakes performer, when running third in the Listed Fair Grounds Furl Sail Handicap. Other winners not listed in the catalogue include: Turn the Knife, a winner of seven races in the USA, Dance for Bev, a winner in the USA at two, Golden Charm, a winner at 1700m in the USA and Foxy Wildcat also a winner in the USA over 1600m.
