Hastings Debut For Terroir
15 Jan 2006The Hawke's Bay meeting at Hastings on January 19 will be the scene for the race-day debut of promising Mark Walker-trained two-year-old Terroir (NZ) (Danehill x Lucky Be Lucky by Storm Cat).
The two-year-old filly, bred and raced by Pencarrow Stud, scored an emphatic seven-length win in a 900m qualifying trial at Paeroa on Tuesday.
"She's ready to go to the races and we are looking forward to seeing her race at Hastings," Peter Vela said.
Provided she runs well at Hastings, Terroir is being touted as a likely prospect for the Gr. 2 Robin, Duke Of Bedford Matamata Breeders' Stakes (1200m) in February.
