J'Adane Second In Queensland Guineas
12 Jun 2007Pencarrow Stud-bred J'adane could remain in Brisbane for one more start as a result of a close second in the Gr II $A250,000 Queensland Guineas at Eagle Farm on Monday.
Ridden by Mark Du Plessis (pictured), J'adane went down by a half neck to Toowoomba three-year-old Sequential Charm in a thrilling finish.
"She could stay on if she comes through this one all right," said co-trainer Russell Cameron.
"If she does stay she'll go for the group one Winter Stakes."
The Danehill filly has been a model of consistency in her Queensland campaign, winning twice and been placed on the other occasions in her last four starts.
She won at Eagle Farm last month before finishing third to Gold Edition in the BTC Classic at Doomben and second to Rosa's Spur in the Dane Ripper Stakes.
Today she again faced Gold Edition and turned the tables on the high-class filly, who finished sixth when backing up from her brave second in last Saturday's Gr I Stradbroke Handicap.
