Regally-Bred Filly Born At Pencarrow Stud

A regally-bred filly by boom sire Redoute's Choice from multiple group winning Zabeel mare Lafleur has been born at Peter and Philip Vela's Pencarrow Stud in Cambridge.

Pencarrow Stud manager Leon Casey described the filly as being a "leggy foal with plenty of size and quality".

Lafleur (ex Desert Lily) descends from the world-renowned Eight Carat family. She was trained by Jim Gibbs and recorded Group 2 victories in the ARC Royal Stakes (2000m) and WRC Sir Tristram Fillies' Classic (2000m).

Lafleur has a yearling colt by Johar which will be offered at the 2007 New Zealand Bloodstock Yearling Sales at Karaka while her two-year-old filly by Red Ransom is to be trained by Mark Walker at Matamata.

Another notable foaling this week at Pencarrow Stud was a Johar colt from resident mare Honourable (Balmerino) whose Thorn Park filly born last year has been retained by the stud.
