Cambridge Trials Winners for Pencarrow

Three Pencarrow bred two-year-olds looked right on track yesterday, with wins in their respective trials at Cambridge.

The well-bred filly Madeleine Noblet (No Excuse Needed - Romanee Conti), a half-sister to Ethereal, was one of two impressive winners by the Mark Walker stable's Pencarrow bred two-year-olds.

Trialling over 800m ridden by Sam Collett, Madeleine Noblet was comfortable and relaxed in the barrier, jumped well, came out wide and let down nicely to win her trial impressively by more than a length. She will trial once more before her raceday debut.

The unnamed first foal of dual Group 2 winner Lafleur (Zabeel - Desert Lily), by Red Ransom, trialled over 650m.

Also ridden by Sam Collett, she came wide around the bend and quickened strongly to win her trial by a length and a quarter. Trainer Mark Walker was very pleased with her performance, and confirmed that she will also have one more trial before making further plans.

A third trials winner on the day bred by Pencarrow Stud was Coppa del Mondo (Van Nistelrooy - Oenotria), for trainers Paddy and Trent Busutton. From the family of top performer in Singapore, Crusoe, the colt was purchased at the Karaka Premier Sale by Hong Kong owner Dominic Li.
