The New Zealand Bloodstock Filly Of The Year trophy (pictured) was presented to the owners of Insouciant at the Mercedes Thoroughbred Racing Awards dinner in Hamilton on Friday night.

Peter and Philip Vela of Pencarrow Stud are the owners of Insouciant.

The Velas bred and race Insouciant, a daughter of Keeper and Loudenne.

Insouciant's major win of the 2007/08 racing season came with her triumph in the Group 1 New Zealand Bloodstock 1000 Guineas at Riccarton last November.

The Velas have claimed the New Zealand Bloodstock Filly Of The Year series title on four occasions.
