Pencarrow Stud-bred mare J'Adane has managed to sneak into the field for Saturday's Group One Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes at Caulfield for what will be just her second appearance in a year.

The five-year-old old daughter of Danehill was the last horse into the 18-horse field with Kingda Ka, Sound Journey, Pillar Of Hercules and Aztec Smytzer the emergencies.

J'Adane returned with an encouraging effort to come from last to finish fifth behind Bel Mer over the unsuitable 1100 metres of the Clamms Seafood Stakes at Caulfield on August 30.

"She had a long time off the scene after knee surgery and we were very happy with the way she hit the line," Cameron said.

Her previous start was when runner-up by a half-head to Cox Plate contender Princess Coup in the Group One Kelt Stakes (2040m) at Hastings on October 6 last year.

"She had done a lot of groundwork and beach work in New Zealand before she came over and has continued with that here (at Bangholme)," Cameron said.

"She is a quality mare. She's been working well and is looking great."

The grey has won only once in 18 starts, in an Eagle Farm 3YO Maiden (1200m) in May last year.

But Cameron has not been scared to place her in top shelf company for most of her 18 career starts which have also yielded four seconds and four thirds.

She has started in Group class 14 times for seven placings and seven times at the highest level for three placings.

As a spring three-year-old J'adane ran second to Tuesday Joy in the 2006 Group Two Wakeful Stakes (2000m) at Flemington before finishing eighth to Miss Finland in the VRC Oaks (2500m).

Since then Cameron has trained her for races no further than 2040m and connections have taken the precaution of nominating her for the Cox Plate.
