Left Standing Leaves Them Cold

Stravinsky three-year-old Left Standing broke his maiden in Queensland earlier in the week, sealing victory at his first outing of the new season.

Bred by Pencarrow Stud, Left Standing is from the Thunder Gulch mare Anatomy, herself a dual stakes winner. She is from top performing racemare Maurine, a dual Group 1 winner and the producer of other stakeswinners Aeroforce One and current performer Six O'Clock News.

Left Standing was sold by Pencarrow Stud at the 2007 Karaka Premier Sale and purchased by Hoss and Gillian Heinrich for $115,000. He is now trained and raced by the pair from their Queensland base.

With just four career starts, the win over 1000m at Eagle Farm comes on the back of a second and third placing as a two-year-old. Each time he has been ridden by local jockey, Scott Seamer, who also carried the Pencarrow blue and white hoops to victory on Ethereal in the prestigious Melbourne Cup in 2001.
