The Pencarrow Stud bred Yours justified his favouritism in the CJC Winning Edge Presentations Handicap (1800m) at Riccarton on Saturday, dashing to a three-and-a-half length victory in the Rating 75 event.

The six-year-old by Van Nistelrooy is from the Pencarrow broodmare Pavan (Centaine) the dam of three winners from four to the races including the stakes placed Let Loushe (Black Minnaloushe).

Yours was offered as a yearling by Curraghmore Stud at the 2006 Select Sale where he was purchased by trainer Bill Thurlow for $11,000. Saturday’s win, in the hands of Opie Bosson, was his sixth career victory from 26 starts for owners Bill Thurlow and A E Symes.

This season Pavan foaled a colt to champion racehorse Darci Brahma. Pencarrow Stud will offer a full brother to the foal at the upcoming 2011 National Yearling Sales Series at Karaka.
