Another Holdup Gets His Maiden Victory

The Pencarrow bred three-year-old Another Holdup broke maiden ranks with a smart performance to win yesterday’s Pinjarra RC Macau Jockey Club Maiden Plate (2000m).

Trained in Australia by Wally Mitchell, Another Holdup (Postponed x Boito Belle, by Centaine) took his first victory with the win having run second on the course two starts ago over the same distance before running unplaced in a Listed race at his last start.

Another Holdup had 13 starts coming into yesterday’s contest and had raked up four second placings with a further three thirds and broke maiden ranks with the victory under jockey Patrick Carbery who has ridden the horse in nine of his 13 career starts.

Bred by Peter and Philip Vela, Another Holdup is from the Centaine mare Boito Belle who has had two horses to race for two winners, the other being the five time Singapore winner Tom (Darci Brahma). Boito Belle is a half-sister to Group 2 winner Winning Belle (Zabeel) and the Pencarrow bred and raced Group 3 winner Our Ella Belle (Encosta de Lago).

Another Holdup was purchased by John Chalmers Bloodstock Services from Pencarrow Stud at New Zealand Bloodstock’s 2011 Karaka Select Sale for $60,000.
