Back-to-Back Wins for Rathausglockel

Pencarrow Racing’s Rathausglockel (Pins x Stanica) made it back-to-back victories in Singapore on Friday night in the S$38,000 Kranji Stakes (1100m).

Following his racing debut at Kranji two weeks ago, the son of Pins now has two wins from two starts.

Rathausglockel had two trials as a two-year-old in New Zealand for trainers Steven Ramsay and Julia Ritchie. After winning his first trial and coming second in the other he was transferred to Laurie Laxon’s stable in Singapore.

Jockey Manoel Nunes kept Rathausglockel handy throughout the trip. Turning for home, the Pencarrow-bred gelding tackled leader Fatkid Wonderer (My Halo) taking a 3.5 length victory.

The lightly raced three-year-old has now earned S$60,511 for owners Sir Peter Vela and Laurie Laxon.

Bred by Sir Peter Vela and Philip Vela, Rathausglockel is out of a Zabeel mare Stanica. She had four middle distance wins and was runner-up in the Group 2 Avondale Cup.

All of Stanica’s progeny have been winners with Rathausglockel a full-brother to Group 3 Australian winner Rhythm To Spare. Other siblings include Stanica Star (Danzero), a seven-time winner, and Makarska (Keeper) who won the Trinity Hill Mile at Hawkes Bay on Thursday.

Stanica has a filly at foot by first season sire All Too Hard.
