Seven-year-old staying gelding Traded (Galileo x Crystalline) claimed a win on Saturday in the A$3,000 Sedona Wines Open Trophy Race Handicap (2600m) at Healesville.

This was Traded’s first start since relocating to Anthony Cosgriff’s stable just this month, now totalling three wins with a further seven places from his 27 starts. He won his first race on debut over 1800m as a four-year-old with trainer Tim Donnelly followed by a second win over 2130m.

Ashlee Beer rode the Galileo gelding from barrier 10 and outstayed his rivals to take victory by one-length over Swiss Flyer (Danbird) and Pixilicous (Not A Single Doubt) who followed in second and third place respectively.

Traded has earned A$26,805 to date for his owners Mrs PG Donnelly and J Ellis.

Rogerson Bloodstock purchased the son of Galileo from New Zealand Bloodstock’s Ready to Run Sale of two-year-olds for $140,000 from Lyndhurst Farm.

Bred by Sir Peter Vela, Philip Vela and Laurie Laxon, Traded is out of winning mare Crystalline (Zabeel). He is a half-brother to stakes winner Bass Strait (Holy Roman Emperor), winner of the Group 3 Peters Stakes.

Granddam, Clear Rose (Deputy Governor), was the joint top filly on the 1995-96 3YO Free Handicap and was winner of the Group 1 New Zealand One Thousand Guineas.
