Silver Cloud Scores at Tauranga

Well-related Pencarrow mare Silver Cloud (NZ) (Testa Rossa) picked up the first win of her career in Friday’s $10,000 Rejthar Law 1200 at Tauranga.

The Steven Ramsay and Julia Ritchie-trained four-year-old was ridden by Danielle Johnson and scored by three-quarters of a length. The victory came in her eighth career start, having placed on four previous occasions.

Bred and raced by Sir Peter Vela, Silver Cloud is out of the unraced O’Reilly mare Cerberus (NZ) – a half-sister to the Group 1 Rosehill Guineas winner De Beers (NZ) (Quest For Fame).

The third dam is the Group 1 winner Tristalove (NZ) (Sir Tristram), from Sir Patrick and Lady Hogan’s legendary Eight Carat-Diamond Lover dam line.

Tristalove herself produced eight winners from eight foals to race, including Group 1 winner and sire Viking Ruler (Danehill) and stakes winners Lovetrista (Rock of Gibraltar), Kempinsky (Danehill) and Diamond Like (Danehill).
