Amaryllis Continues Winning Way.
26 April 2010
The combination of Mark Walker, Alvin Ng and Pencarrow Stud’s Amaryllis once again proved too strong in taking out the Pollock & Sons Crane Hire 1200 rating 90 at Tauranga on Saturday.
Soon after leaving the barriers Ng positioned Amaryllis (Red Ransom x Lafleur, by Zabeel) beautifully just behind the leaders. Turning into the straight he balanced the mare before pulling her three off the rail to overtake the two leaders comfortably going to the post hands and heels in another slick time of 1.09:61.
Mark Walker stated this morning that there were a few contributing factors to Amaryllis’s great form this campaign.
Blinkers, a change in shoeing and the fact she is now stronger and therefore able to handle more racing.
Her main aim will be the Fillies and Mares race at Rotorua on May the 8th a course which she has already had success at.
