Debut Win for Break Free
15 September 2008
Singapore based three-year-old Break Free made it the perfect start to his race career at Kranji on Friday night, with a debut win in the S$65,000 WFA event over 1200m.
Trained by leading Singapore trainer Laurie Laxon, the Pencarrow Stud-bred gelding was bought at the Karaka Premier Sale for $27,500. By Fasliyev, he is the first foal to the races from Centaine mare Tehama. Tehama - herself a stakes winner - has a yearling filly by Savabeel that will be retained by the Stud, and is about to foal to Darci Brahma.
The following day in Melbourne another Pencarrow bred galloper showed sound form fresh up to run a cracking second in the 1000m race at Moonee Valley.
Trained by Lee Freedman, Let Loushe was a $60,000 purchase from the Karaka Premier Sale as a yearling. By Black Minnaloushe from the Centaine mare Pavan, he is a winner of 6 of his 17 raceday starts, with 2 seconds and 2 thirds also to his credit.
Pavan has a yearling filly by Pins and is currently in foal to Darci Brahma.
